Apple Stole Our Idea. However, We’re Very Glad That They Did.

We at StockShotsNow.com have wanted a tool that would integrate our scripts and storyboards into our pre and post production for some time.  We have entertained the idea that it would be awesome to have a way to streamline the pre-producion, production and post-production processes.  A tool that would allow us to plan, communicate and create with the entire creative team all with in one place would be an awesome addition to our production workflow.

In all of our dreaming we had envisioned  a website.  We thought that a website that allowed one to create storyboards and scripts in away that the entire creative production team could log in and access this would be awesome.  We had countless ideas and plans as to how we would use this in the stock video footage industry, but we never thought about making this a part of Final Cut Pro. (Which we now hope that Apple will.)

Lucky for us Apple has taken our idea and ran with it.

Apple announced recently that they have created a patent application titled “Script-Integrated-Storyboards”

This software looks amazing.  It will allow the creative team to integrate the entire storyboard with the script, allowing directors, producers and writers to more effectively communicate with the rest of the production team.  This shows that apple is trying to capture more of a market share in the film production world.  Read more about it at macblogz.com.
