Diagonal View announces today the compilation of its top 10 most popular clips across sites such as MySpace, YouTube, Metacafe , Yahoo, Daily Motion and MSN.
In the six months since launch, these 10 clips have been watched more than 13 million times. They include: Extreme Downhill Skateboarding, a Prehistoric Goblin Shark found off the waters of Japan, and a parrot that beats people at puzzles
To date, Diagonal View has received a total of 65 million unique hits across all platforms and has already become the fourth most-watched channel of all time on MySpace, quickly closing in on the Family Guy at number three.
In November, it experienced its best performance yet, recording a staggering seven million views for its viral videos in one week alone.
Fifty per cent owned by ITN, Diagonal View repackages unusual and entertaining footage from ITN Source’s vast archive spanning three centuries to the current day, and syndicates it to a range of commercial partners.
Matt Heiman, Chairman of Diagonal View, said: Watching online videos is fun and it’s easy to share Diagonal View clips with friends whether you subscribe to the channel via the Web or watch on a social networking site like MySpace. Diagonal View has a wide range of content - from odd and jaw dropping to informational - in a common short-length format that appeals to consumers wherever they are online, as evidenced by the 13 million plus views of their top 10 list.
